1 The Accounting Framework and Cycle 12 hour

Accepted accounting principles and the accrual basis; the cycle from source document to journal entry, posting, and trial balance. Designing a chart of accounts that serves the reports you need.

2 Adjusting Entries and Period Close 10 hour

Adjusting entries: depreciation, accruals and prepayments, doubtful-debt provisions, and inventory counts. Monthly and year-end close procedures and the checklist that prevents recurring errors.

3 Preparing the Financial Statements 12 hour

Preparing the income statement, balance sheet, and cash-flow statement and the links between them. Why a profitable business can run out of cash, and reading operating cash flow as a true health indicator.

4 Cost Accounting and Pricing 12 hour

Fixed, variable, direct and indirect costs and overhead allocation methods. Break-even and contribution margin, and using both in pricing and product-discontinuation decisions.

5 Taxation and Statutory Obligations 10 hour

VAT: registration, invoicing, input and output tax, and periodic returns. Withholding on cross-border payments, and record-keeping that withstands a tax audit.

6 Financial Analysis and Management Reporting 10 hour
